Values are for COLD tires (parked 3+ hours or driven under 2 km). The full-load row follows common manufacturer practice by adding +0.2 bar front / +0.3 bar rear; winter mode adds +0.2 bar to compensate for cold-air contraction. Your door-jamb / fuel-flap placard is always authoritative.

Tire pressure guide

Why does tire pressure matter so much?

Underinflation flexes the sidewall: fuel use rises 3-5%, shoulders wear early, wet braking distances grow and blowout risk increases. Overinflation shrinks the contact patch, wears the center band and hardens the ride. The right value is always the factory figure on your door-jamb placard.

When and how should you measure?

Always measure COLD: the car should have been parked for at least 3 hours. Warm tires read 0.2-0.4 bar high. Check monthly and before every long trip — and don't forget the spare.

What PSI with 4-5 people and luggage?

At full load manufacturers typically specify +0.3 bar (≈4-5 PSI) on the rear axle and +0.2 bar (≈3 PSI) up front. Use the 'Full load' row above for fully loaded trips, and drop back to normal afterwards.

Does pressure rise or fall in winter?

Pressure falls as air cools: every 10°C drop costs ≈0.1 bar. In winter, measure in the cold and inflate ~0.2 bar above the placard value — especially if you fill up in a warm garage but drive in the cold.

The TPMS light came on — now what?

A TPMS warning usually means one tire has lost 25%+ of its pressure. Measure all four cold as soon as possible, top up, and if the light stays on have a shop check for a slow leak (nail, valve, bead).
